DCSA’s Release 14.5 brought some major shifts to Continuous Vetting (CV) statuses. If you’re seeing the new “Unenrolled” tag popping up in your system alerts, here’s the quick breakdown every FSO needs to know:

1. The 45-Day Grace Period

When a subject loses their Security Management Office (SMO) affiliation, a 45-day clock starts ticking. If a new SMO doesn’t claim them before time runs out, DISS automatically shifts them to “Unenrolled”.

2. Re-Enrollment is (Usually) Automatic

Re-establishing an active SMO relationship automatically re-enrolls eligible personnel in CV, no brand-new SF-86 required, provided their eligibility can still be verified.

3. The 5-Year “PVQ Date” Rule

Periodic reinvestigations are officially in the past. DCSA now tracks compliance using the PVQ Date in your Subject Report. Everyone needs an updated filing every five years, regardless of clearance level.

The Bottom Line: Leaving orphaned SMO relationships on your roster or missing transfer windows creates unnecessary clearance gaps that halt project onboarding down the road.
